The Outsiders, First impressions:

The Outsiders, First impressions:

My first impressions on this book The Outsiders is that it is a really interesting book. This book reminds me of a movie called  “Happy Days”. This book is based on teenagers and the society they lived in during the olden days in the 1950’s to the 1960’s. The characters in the book seem really fun and I am sure they would be great to hang out with. They all have different personality’s that's what makes it so interesting for the reader. The narrator is a 14-year-old boy named Ponyboy describes very well the time in which the book was set with cool clothing and slicked back hair styles and rock and roll music.
There are two different gangs, one is a rich gang the Socs and the other a poor gang the Greasers. Both of the gangs have a long background of fighting together. So far in the story one-gang member from the Greasers got “jumped” which is attacked by one of the members from the Socs.

My prediction is that there will be someone from one of the gangs that will eventually die in this book. It’s not that they are really viscous gangs but they are very territorial and protect each other as family.
The youngest brother of three boys is Ponyboy he is fourteen years old goes to school and skipped a grade because he is so smart. Ponyboy’s is taken care of by his two brothers since his parents died. His oldest brother Darrel is nickname Darry and is 20 years old and works as a roof tiler. The middle brother Sodapop is sixteen years old and he drooped out of school and works at the gas station. The brothers are in the gang Greasers.

In the year 1960s that outfit and hairstyles are cool. They all us light blue or barker colour jean with a t-shirt with a lather jacket. The slang in this book is American and old fashioned and a bit weird and funny because it’s different to now.
